We Interrupt This Blog.... #16

...to bail out the world economy....

Of course, that is $15,000,000 in 1965. Hmm, let's see, back then gold was $35.12 an ounce so that means they could pull out 26,694 pounds or 13 tons. Today, that would be worth...
$375,854,214. That keeps ahead of inflation which would have only made that worth $97.6 million.

With my luck I would be the guy at the end of the line... the line that contained everyone in the entire world.

  1. All things considered, that's a pretty short line.

And they don't need that fancy machine! Martian Manhunter figured out how to extract gold from seawater YEARS ago!

    I...I miss J'onn. *sniff*

  2. Oh, you're wanting to put the future of our economy in the hands of a dead illegal alien?!?!?

Also, that's a short line because the line started 10 years ago.

  3. Ha! Gold has been hovering around the thousand-dollars-an-ounce mark since spring. It's a great time to be a gold seller -- not so great to be a buyer, if yer buying at those prices. People always buy gold when the economy scares them, though.

    But never platinum. Go figure.
