Why I love The Brave and the Bold

Six issues now and I have to say that The Brave and the Bold is one of my favorite books. Mark Waid and George Perez are working magic on this title, weaving a storyline amongst several heroes and several locations and every step of it makes perfect sense. The art is top-notch and the dialogue rings right on the money. But better than that are the little touches that Waid & Perez put in. Things like: (cover shots courtesy of Grand Comic Book Database)

How can you NOT be amazed and awed at a book like this? The sad part is that I'm sure that I've missed a dozen more references in the six issues.

I've been loving this ever since it came out again. Batman is actually tolerable, Hal was fun, and even Supergirl wasn't as annoying as she usually is.

And those are some INSANE weapons.
