Jonah Hex Graphic Novel official!!

No Way Back is the title of the first Jonah Hex graphic novel. With the premise promised, I would have to agree that the title fits. From the DC blog:

You’ve heard rumblings here and there, but we’re happy to put the “official” stamp on this one. Next year, Warner Bros. Pictures will release the major motion picture JONAH HEX, starring Josh Brolin in the title role, along with Megan Fox and John Malkovich. To celebrate the release of the feature film DC will simultaneously unveil an original JONAH HEX graphic novel, created by the acclaimed JONAH HEX writing team of Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti paired with legendary HEX artist Tony DeZuniga.

We cornered the writing team for their thoughts on the news. Take it away, guys:

Jonah Hex has a brother,” Gray revealed. “That’s the idea that came up decades earlier in discussions between writer John Albano and Tony DeZuniga. Tony casually mentioned this to us and that idea has been brought to life in the hardcover. Bold, brazen violent and surprisingly tender, this is the consummate tale of the Wild West’s greatest bounty hunter.”

“This is the first all original Jonah Hex graphic novel and a dream project for us,” Palmiotti said. “Jonah is one of the coolest and most unique characters we have ever had the pleasure to work on. He’s an icon for all ages and his untamed manner appeals, on a visceral gut level, to just about everyone who reads it. In this, Hex’s first original graphic novel, we unleash the beast like you have never seen before.”

The OGN, titled JONAH HEX: NO WAY BACK, will hit in May, clock in at 136 pages and retail for $19.99.

Sounds like one helluva book!!

...ends with Jonah killing his brother?

Sigh. Why do they all eventually make everything a family drama? There can be a good story without the reveal that the characters are related.

I'm not so sure about that Slee. The Hex family dynamic always went against the norm for the storytelling of the day.

I'm just trying to figure out how they explain that we saw nothing of this offsprng during the entire run of Jonah's previous books. My money is on the fact that Ginny was pregnant when she left Woodson and Jonah never knew of him.

I can't imagine there being any sort of happy reunion no matter how the threads are laid out.
