Jonah Hex Movie collectibles..

Wow, there is a slew of them that has popped up lately. First, the busts from DC Direct: Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex
and then Megan Fox as Liela

and Cooltoyreview has some photos of the NECA actions figures that include Hex

and then the first we get to see of John Malkovich as Quentin Turnbull

a different interpretation of our hated Southern gentleman for sure.

Okay- count me in as one of the nerds-without-a-recognizable-life who is semi ticked off about Mr. Brolin's lack of an "evil eye" in his interpretation of JH. I can live with hair color changes and the fact he wears the complete uniform rather than just the tunic, but where's the gaping eye? The all seeing freak eyeball of doom? Trademark! I fully understand that the eyeball defies all known laws of physiology (as does the scar for that matter) but it is as integral as anything in the character.

Jim, I can let you know (from what I have 'heard') is that they were trying to figure a way to do the eye. They steered away from CG effects on this film and there was no way that they could do anything resembling the eye without it looking like crap or risking the loss of Brolin's eye.

The makeup on the burn (while it might not look like much in some of the photos) is pretty impressive in how they went about constructing it.

I know when I saw Two-Face in the Dark Knight I almost shouted "THAT'S HOW YA DO JONAH HEX!!!", but that's not the direction this film took.

I was thinking the same thing about the Two-Face makeup when I saw Dark Knight. A friend who saw it with me -- who isn't even a Hex fan -- wondered if they were going to use the same techniques on Josh Brolin. Heck, I even got my hopes up about how good the makeup could be when I saw Gerard Butler in Phantom of the Opera!
